Key Highlights
- Bloomberg reports Apple is preparing to integrate third-party AI platforms such as Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude with Siri.
- The integration is anticipated to debut with iOS 27, likely to be unveiled at WWDC in June 2025.
- iPhone users will gain the ability to select their preferred AI service for handling specific Siri requests.
- Apple may monetize the feature by collecting a percentage of subscriptions purchased through integrated third-party AI applications.
- Reports also suggest iOS 27 will include a dedicated Siri application and a new “Ask Siri” interface button.
Apple appears ready to transform Siri into a more flexible AI platform by allowing integration with competing artificial intelligence services, representing a significant strategic pivot for the tech giant.

Bloomberg’s latest reporting suggests this functionality will arrive alongside iOS 27. The update would enable third-party AI application developers — notably Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude — to connect directly with Siri, giving users freedom to choose which AI service processes their queries.
Currently, Apple maintains an agreement with OpenAI that allows ChatGPT functionality within Siri. When Siri determines a query would be better handled by ChatGPT, the system asks users for permission before transferring any information. Apple indicated when announcing this partnership that additional AI collaborations were on the horizon — and these new reports suggest that expansion is imminent.
This broader integration strategy would effectively position the iPhone as a neutral AI marketplace, enabling users to choose between multiple AI assistants instead of being restricted to a single provider.
Monetization Strategy
Apple has financial incentives driving this openness. According to reports, the company plans to collect a commission on subscriptions purchased through third-party AI applications that connect with Siri — mirroring its existing App Store revenue model.
This approach could establish Siri as a gateway for AI service distribution, with Apple positioned as an intermediary earning a percentage of transactions. It’s a proven business strategy the company has successfully deployed before.
The technical infrastructure enabling these integrations is being built within Apple Intelligence, the company’s comprehensive AI ecosystem introduced last year. Third-party developers would create their applications to function within this established framework.
June WWDC Announcement Anticipated
Apple is widely expected to demonstrate these new capabilities at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, scheduled from June 8 through June 12. The opening keynote presentation is set for June 8.
This event traditionally serves as Apple’s platform for previewing upcoming versions of iOS, macOS, and other operating systems to the developer community. iOS 27 is expected to dominate the presentation.
Bloomberg cautions that Apple’s plans remain subject to modification before the conference — meaning nothing is confirmed until Apple makes an official announcement during the keynote.
In addition to the expanded AI integration capabilities, earlier reports this week indicated that iOS 27 may also introduce a standalone Siri application and a redesigned “Ask Siri” activation button.
Apple has not yet issued a statement regarding any of these reported features.
