Cupertino giant Apple is well-known for its unique and industry-standard R&D (Research and Development) to bring new designs or technology to Apple devices. In that scenario, Apple files multiple patents for their upcoming devices and technology aspects every year. Coming to the topic, recent news coming out that an Apple patent has been spotted online that indicates a new 3D touch feature for the upcoming Apple Watch, Macbook, and iPhone devices.
However, it looks like the discontinued 3D Touch or Force Touch Sensor feature on the previous generation of iPhone models was pretty much useful and interesting among users. These days Apple fans or the previous generation of iPhone users look for the 3D touch feature on the latest generation. Well, that wish seems to become true very soon as per leaked reports because Apple is working on a 3D touch sensor and has already filed a patent for that.
This time the expectation is quite higher because Apple wants the force touch sensor to be working on all of their major devices such as Macbooks, Apple Watches, and iPhones or iPads which will be a great thing. US Patent & Trademark Office did publish the multiple patents that were filed by Apple, a big thanks to Patently Apple for sharing it publicly. As per the patent diagram, Apple patents are actually related to force-pressure sensors something similar to 3D Touch that we’ve already seen on the previous generation of iPhone models. These patents also mention how the force-pressure sensors will work and serve different purposes to the users.
One of the patents has revealed that force sensors are designed for the smaller size of devices like the Apple Watch and AirPods. Standard force sensors may consume some space inside the device but Apple’s patent typically showcased an Apple Watch with a pressure-sensitive side button just under the crown button. It can eventually replace the physical buttons based on pressure sensors.
Whereas a second patent shows that Apple is working on pressure sensors to create smart bands for the Apple Watch that can be able to detect blood pressure and even pulse wave velocity. As per some rumors, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 will have new health features where we can find out more hardware-based health features later this year.
The patent figures show an overall combination of multiple small modules together which will be better instead of a single component. That means the 3D touch feature might cost less and Apple fans can easily jump into the next-generation devices without thinking so much about the cost.
