Apple has now begun rolling out iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 to its eligible iPhone and iPad models around the world. The update brings a return to the SharePlay feature. Originally, SharePlay was supposed to arrive with iOS 15 but has been delayed a bit. This feature can be used like a video conference or calling feature to call friends and to enjoy watching films, TV shows, or listening to music together.
SharePlay syncs content across all iOS devices so that everyone can watch it at the same time together which is a great thing. Among the other improvements in iOS 15.1 are improvements to the camera options for iPhone 13 Pro models. Users of the iPhone 13 Pro now have the option to switch off the automatic macro mode if desired.
As for the ProRes video capture feature, it is also available in iOS 15.1 that enables you to capture videos in even better quality on an iPhone 13 Pro at 30fps (1080p) on 128GB models and in 4K on 256GB models or higher. Additionally, the company is allowing iOS 15.1 users to add their COVID vaccination cards to the Wallet app for them to present whenever they want to.
For HomePod and HomePod Mini users, the new iOS 15.1 adds Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos quality with Spatial Audio support. The iPhone 12’s battery algorithms have been improved for increased battery life. There have also been some bug fixes and enhancements to the system. Furthermore, iPadOS 15.1 includes an iPad Live Text feature for A12 Bionic and later chipsets.
For compatible devices, you can get iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 by going to the Settings app > Tap on General > Tap on Software Update. Simply download and install the update if it is available.
