Like Poco, Black Shark is Xiaomi’s lesser-known sub-brand aimed at gamers. Last month, the company launched its flagship gaming smartphone in the Chinese market. A month later, the company is now making the phone available for pre-order following its success in China. With a sale starting sometime next week, the phone can be pre-booked in the European market.

Black Shark 4 Specifications
Coming to the hardware, the Black Shark 4 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate is mostly found on gaming monitors. The touch sampling rate is 720Hz, resulting in immediate response upon touch. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with the Adreno 650 should be enough for most mobile games. The Black Shark 4 phone offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
For gamers, the Black Shark 4 also features physical pop-up gaming triggers allowing for more screen space. All this is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Having said that, it is interesting to note that the phone comes with a 67W charger. Why the company made this decision is still unclear. Xiaomi says the phone can be fully charged in under 17 minutes.
The phone features a side mounted fingerprint scanner and packs a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 5MP Macro sensor. The front camera is powered by a 20MP sensor that should be enough for video calling and selfies.
The Black Shark 4 runs on Android 11 out of the box and comes with the Joy UI 12.5, which is the company’s own Android skin.
