Bug in iOS 15.2 Beta 1 Prevents Users From Clearing Notification Summary

Just a few days after the release of iOS 15.1 to the public, Apple started rolling out the first beta build of iOS 15.2. The beta update first came to developers and was later released to public beta testers. However, users have been reporting that the new iOS 15.2 Beta 1 carries several bugs, including an annoying bug that prevents them from clearing notification summary — even after clearing the notification. As per a Reddit post, clearing notifications does not remove the notification summary from the notification shade.

On October 27, just two days after the public release of iOS 15.1, Apple released the first beta update of iOS 15.2 to developers. The update added new features that were originally slated to be included in iOS 15.0. One of the most significant features that Apple has added in iOS 15.2 Beta 1 includes the full “App Privacy Report” feature in the Settings app. Here’s what new features the first beta firmware of iOS 15.2 has added.

New Features in iOS 15.2

As aforementioned, iOS 15.2 has added the full “App Privacy Report” feature to the Settings app. The feature allows users to see the data accessed by applications, including third-party apps and Apple apps.

Another thing Apple has tweaked in the iOS 15.2 beta is that the Record App Activity, a feature introduced in iOS 15, now presents the activity of apps in Settings in a new UI called App Privacy Report. To those unaware of this feature, Record App Activity allows people to save a summary of sensor, data, and internet access by apps on their device. Users can view their activity in the report by going to Settings » Privacy » App Privacy Report » Turn On App Privacy Report.

Apart from this, users can now set Auto Call to use any of the two methods to initiate an emergency call — rapidly pressing the side button multiple times, or holding the side button together with a volume button. Apple has also redesigned the notification summary interface in iOS 15.2 Beta 1.
