Dragon Star Varnir comes to the Nintendo Switch

According to an announcement made by Idea Factory International, they are all set to release Compile Heart’s game Dragon Star Virnir on the Nintendo Switch this summer.

Known as Ryusei no Varnir in Japanese, the game will be released in the West in the coming months. Players can grab a copy of the game physically as well as digitally through Limited Run Games or via their online store.

The video below lets us take a quick peek at the opening movie trailer of the game.

The game developers have decided to retain all the Japanese Art in the game on the Nintendo Switch version. Previously, Idea Factory International said that had to modify two Computer Generated scenes for their Western Audiences for the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Dragon Star Varnir is already available for the PS4 in North America and Europe. The console version was released back in 2019. It was also launched on Steam in October of 2019. The original version of the game started shipping way back in 2018.

Idea Factory International describes the game as:

In a world where the bones of an ancient beast tower over the land…
The Knight Zephy is part of an order whose role is to hunt down witches – people seen as cursed beings for giving birth to dragons.
When he is almost killed on one of these missions, two mysterious witches save him from the brink of death by feeding him dragon blood.
Granted new magic abilities by their efforts, he soon finds his fate intertwined with the witches and reluctantly joins them to fight against an Empire out to destroy his kind, ruthless dragon hunters, and a witch more powerful than any in existence.
Can they fight all this and save themselves, or will his new allies succumb to the dragon’s curse…?

We should tell you that the game had multiple character designers, each of whom was responsible for creating a different character. The video game is produced by none other than Compile Heart president Norihisa Kochiwa.
