Dungeons and Dragons live-action TV series and movie in the making

No doubt Dungeons and Dragons have many prominent characters and Drizzt Do’Urden is one of them. Well, according to the latest update, Wizards of the Coast have announced the long-in-development of the Dungeons & Dragons TV series. As it reads, Wizards already has a tonne of novels and videogames on Drizzt. If that’s not enough, the Legend of Drizzt has Funko POP figures, t-shirts, Magic: The Gathering cards, action figures, Halloween costumes, replica scimitars, and whatnot. A live-action GV show is also in the making.

Developments around Dungeons and Dragons

According to the update, there’s an upcoming Dungeons and Dragons TV series and it might have Drizzt. It will be a live-action TV show starring some of the prominent personalities such as Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, Chris Pine, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis among others.

However, there’s no clarity about the movie or the TV series as of now so we will have to wait for the update. The folks at Polygon contacted Wizards of the Coast where they said that Drizzt may not make it in the movie, however, the TV show might have Drizzt playing a prominent role. However, there are speculations that when Wizards said “not focused”, what they meant was Drizzt won’t have a prominent role in the movie. The movie is being rumored to be in development since 2016 at the latest and produced by eOne entertainment.

The promo video will be narrated by none other than Dr. Strange from Marvel’s Dr. Strange Benedict Cumberbatch.

Drizzt Do’Urden which is the center of the news here is a drow, a member of a dark-skinned race of elves in the Forgotten Realms of Dungeons and Dragons. Drizzt was introduced in the late 1980s in the novel The Crystal Shard by R.A. Salvatore has been a part of numerous novels and video games over the years. Its upcoming game titled Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance is slated to arrive on June 22.

Apparently, more news about Drizzt reprising a role in upcoming projects will soon be revealed over the next couple of months.
