The long-awaited premium flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 series is expected to be released officially in February 2022 (Q1). In advance of the official announcement, there are already some reports surfacing online regarding the expected specs, overall design, and more. Ahead of the official teaser, Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus selfie camera details have been revealed.
It is quite common to find information about upcoming smartphones these days but that does not mean that all the leaked details will be the same. In fact, sometimes the leaked details do not match up with the actual retail product. Nevertheless, considering the topic at hand, all three Galaxy S22 series models have been leaked with regards to their design, changes, and expected specifications.
As per the GalaxyClub blog, the new upcoming Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ models will have the same 10MP selfie camera under the Infinity-O display design. This is similar to the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S20, and the Galaxy S21 lineup apart from some other mid-ranger Galaxy models. It is highly likely that Samsung will use the same sensor size, aperture, and autofocus mode as well.
The existing Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ models both have a 10MP (F2.2 aperture) selfie camera with a 1/3.24-inch sensor, 1.22m pixels, and dual pixel autofocus mode. There is also a 4K @ 60 fps video recording option. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, however, is expected to have a 40MP selfie camera compared to its siblings or predecessors.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series front camera isn’t all that bad. Thanks to Samsung’s image-processing power it makes the footage sharper and closer to real. Our hope is that Samsung will enhance the camera software department on the Galaxy S22 lineup, particularly the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
