Huawei P50 set to launch worldwide on July 29

Huawei brand is one of the biggest names in the smartphone industry. The company will launch its latest flagship, the Huawei P50, in the coming days.

The much-awaited Huawei P50 will be launched globally on July 29, albeit global chip shortage. The company made the announcement on the popular Chinese social media platform Weibo.

According to Richard Yu, Executive Director and CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, the P50 will be a milestone and mark the beginning of “a new era of mobile imaging.”

Last month, the company launched its homemade operations system known as HarmonyOS 2.0, designed to replace Android on Huawei devices. It will power somewhere around 100 devices, including some smartphones. Some of the new smartphones powered by HarmonyOS include the Huawei Mate 40 Series, Mate X2, MatePad Pro, and Watch 3 series.

The Huawei P50 is expected to follow in the footsteps of the Mate 40 series and will be powered by the HarmonyOS 2.0. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer started developing HarmonyOS last year when the US banned Huawei from using US software such as Android after the trade war between China and the US.

Since then, Huawei has incurred significant losses because of its inability to use the Android platform. All we know for now is that the phone will offer a 6.3-inch OLED screen.
