Actor Mark Ruffalo apologized online after he said Israel committed genocide

A few days ago, the famous Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo suggested that Israel committed genocide against the Palestinian people.

The American actor is a frequent critique of the nation of Israel, tweeted on Tuesday that he “wanted to apologize for posts during the recent Israel/Hamas fighting that suggested Israel is committing genocide.” He also said, “It’s not accurate. It’s inflammatory, disrespectful & is being used to justify antisemitism here & abroad. Now is the time to avoid hyperbole.”

The apology by Ruffalo came when a war of words occurred on social media websites when various celebrities spoke out in favor of one side of the conflict. It even lead to some rounds of insults and even violence in some places.

Mark Ruffalo went on to say that the Israeli government was also leading asymmetric warfare against the Palestinian people.

The sudden change in his heart seems to have upset a lot of people, especially his fans. Having said that, Ruffalo is not the first actor to have switched sides. Many celebrities have already changed their statements and now are in favor of Israel.

Twitter users marked out that it might be because his movies were at stake. Numerous people who had earlier spoken against Israel have now taken back their statements, keeping in mind the country’s soft power.
