Microsoft Adds 13 more Games to FPS Boost on Xbox Series X and Series S

Microsoft Xbox One had some of the best games available at the time when it arrived. However, most of the Xbox One titles were earlier locked at 30fps which is something considered average today with the on-set of Xbox Series X and Series S. Cut to now, Microsoft has confirmed that it has now added 13 new games on FPS Boost that allows these titles to reach higher frame rates.

What is FPS Boost? List of Supported Games?

FPS Boost is a feature from Microsoft that boosts the refresh rate of any title from a locked 30fps used on old-generation Xbox One consoles to higher frame rates. The feature can unlock 60fps to 120 fps on a title that was once limited to 30fps only. This feature is available on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X only and converts the old titles from Xbox One to fit the current generation of consoles.

The list includes 13 games that have received support for FPS Boost which includes Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Battlefield 1 and 5, and others. Note that now all the 13 titles that have received FPS Boost support are available for Xbox Series S which is an all-digital console whereas the Xbox Series X gets the privilege to play all of the 13 newly added tiles.

Having a higher refresh rate does play in the player’s favor as it improves smoothness and improves the user’s response time. This is because the screen adds more frames i.e. twice or even four times than the usual titles locked at 30fps allowing for an edge over others. Such as of the well-known games that can take advantage of improved frame rates is Titanfall a series and the Battlefield series. Also check out Sea of Solitude, Unravel 2, Star Wars Battlefront, and Star Wars Battlefront II among others.

Users might need to activate FPS Boost from the Xbox’s compatibility settings to get their hands on the options to get better frame rates. The feature made its debut in February 2021 and no doubt, it has been upping the game bringing older titles to newer consoles with increased frame rates and improved gaming experience.
