Lenovo-owned Motorola brand keeps trying to be in the mobile market competition with its budget category to flagship grade smartphones. Though the 200MP camera sensor from Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 has been in the news for some time, it seems that Motorola is going to be the first brand to launch the world’s first-ever 200MP camera smartphone in China this month. Yes! The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra launch is imminent and the 200MP camera samples have surfaced online before launch.
Talking about the industry-leading ISOCELL HP1 sensor for 200MP camera resolution isn’t a joke for mobile devices. Well, this HP1 sensor is quite outstanding in terms of performance. While the latest Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 sensor is quite smaller in size than the HP1 sensor to provide a lower camera bump at the rear side which is also a plus point. While we don’t need to give any certification on the camera performance and picture quality whatsoever.
Earlier this year, Motorola did mention their upcoming 200MP camera smartphone quipped with Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor. So, the chances are high that not only the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will be the first-ever 200MP camera phone from the Motorola brand but also the world’s first in the market.
Meanwhile, the China General Manager of Motorola, Chen Jin has recently shared a camera sample taken from the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra on Weibo. You can check out the camera sample image below. The device is expected to be launched in China this July 2022 but the confirmed date isn’t official yet.
Expected Specifications of Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
So, as per the leaked camera sample image above, it seems that the wide dynamic range is much better than the current generation flagship smartphone cameras. While the depth effect, color saturation, true to real colors, etc are looking really good.
Talking about the camera resolution, the above image has been captured at just 50MP resolution using the ISOCELL HP1 sensor’s 4-in-1 pixel processing feature. We should also keep in mind that the shared image is already compressed as it’s uploaded on the social media website (Weibo). Therefore, we really can’t decode the actual image quality unless the device gets launched or anyone gets hands-on.
However, the official executive did mention that the 4-in-1 pixel processing is far superior to the 9-in-1 processing supported by 108MP camera smartphones such as the Moto G200. While the camera sample image size is more than 13MB. So, you can understand the quality aspect.
Coming to the specifications, it’s expected that the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra model might come with a 6.73-inches Full-HD+ 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display panel. It might be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, packs a typical 4,500mAh battery, supports up to 125W wired fast charging, pairs up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage out-of-the-box.
Additionally, the rear side will have a powerful 200MP triple camera setup including a 50MP secondary + 12MP tertiary sensor, a standalone 60MP selfie camera under the punch-hole display, etc. The handset should run on Android 12 on top of MyUX OS. Well, we’re not sure whether the global variant of Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will have the same UI or the stock Android UI.
