In the latest edition of the “Weekly Shonen Jump” magazine it was announced that the anime series “My Hero Academia” (Japanese: “Boku no Hero Academia”) will receive a new OVA, which will initially be on August 16, 2020 will be released exclusively on Hulu Japan and will be available on other Japanese streaming services from August 30, 2020.
New episode is about survival training
The new episode is titled »Ikinokore! Kesshi no Survival Kunren ”(Survive! Mach-or-Die-Survival Training) and takes place immediately before the provisional pro-hero license test. Class 1-A is split into two teams to practice disaster relief scenarios.
As part of the exercise, a fire broke out in an underground shopping mall. The teams have to rescue the placed dummies, which represent people left behind. When Deku and his team of 10 start looking for victims who can save them, an area that includes them underground collapses. The electricity has failed and the air is getting thinner. The teams have to work together to escape and survive.
My Hero Academia has so far consisted of four seasons with a total of 88 episodes, which were broadcast on Japanese television between April 2016 and April 2020. A fifth season is currently in the works. There are also two films and two other OVAs.
The first two seasons are already available from KAZÉ on DVD and Blu-ray. The third season will be released on August 6, 2020, while the fourth season with German subtitles will be available on Anime on Demand. The Manga series by Kohei Horikoshi is published by Carlsen.
