Next Version of Vivo’s OriginOS to Arrive on December 9 as OriginOS Ocean

Android OS comes in many customized skins from different phone makers, and OriginOS is one such custom Android skin from Vivo. This custom OS is the Chinese smartphone maker’s platform of choice for its Chinese phones. Now, according to a new report, OriginOS is about to get a new version and will be released on December 9.

According to a reports, the next version of Vivo’s OriginOS will be arriving on December 9 and it will be called OriginOS Ocean. As per the popular leakster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, at least a dozen phones will receive the new OriginOS Ocean update in the first wave. Reportedly, the company will release the official closed beta list once the event takes place in ten days.

OriginOS Ocean Expected Features, Devices to Receive It First

According to the reports, the new OriginOS update will bring improved features for mobile users. Additionally, this update will also bring cross-device navigation with PC and file transfers. However, in terms of design, the report says that there won’t be any change, and the company will keep the grid system with multiple widgets and gesture navigation. Design-wise, the features that became a hit among Vivo phone users when the first OriginOS was released will be kept intact.

As said before, over a dozen Vivo phones will be receiving the OriginOS Ocean in the first wave. Most of these phones are flagships, and some mid-range phones from the S series will also receive the update during the first rollout.
