OnePlus 9 Pro recently spotted running ColorOS 12 rather than OxygenOS

After OnePlus getting merged with the OPPO, it seems that OnePlus is getting lost somewhere in the middle. Recently, OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been released after the collaboration and plenty of users have reported that OPPO sub-brand OnePlus has changed or tweaked some of its OxygenOS visuals, designs similar to OPPO’s ColorOS skin. So, OnePlus device users will see a slightly changed user interface that what they’ve seen earlier on OxygenOS. Now, the reports are coming out that the OnePlus 9 Pro has recently been spotted running ColorOS 12 rather than OxygenOS.

Yes! One international variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro (LE2121) features the ColorOS 12 skin, which runs on Android 12 instead of OxygenOS. That’s quite strange and expected too as we’ve already mentioned above. OPPO and OnePlus have decided to get on one track to streamline software operations as well as improve user experience with more possibilities. Then a couple of months ago, both the brands have merged or you can say OPPO has taken over OnePlus.

Now, it’s also speculated that more & more upcoming OnePlus devices will have more ColorOS specific user interfaces or features rather than OxygenOS-specific features whatsoever. Recently, a Redditor has posted an image that shows the OnePlus 9 Pro is running on ColorOS 12 instead of OxygenOS. Well, it might be just the beginning of the end of OxygenOS as well as OnePlus too most probably. GizChina has posted a blog on the same topic having that leaked image that we have added here.

The image clearly mentions the OnePlus 9 Pro is having ColorOS 12 with 12GB of RAM and the LE2121 variant which is approximately the Indonesian version. You should take this image with a grain of salt because it is unverified. There is a good chance the upcoming unified OS will be called something other than OPPO’s ColorOS. We assume that the OnePlus 9 Pro is the final release from OnePlus this year (2021) as a flagship phone. So, more rumors and leaks are coming out of the OnePlus 10 that may appear in early 2022.
