Paramount+ is Now Available on Android TV, Google TV, and Chromecast

Last year, with the rise of the coronavirus pandemic, we saw some major streaming services launches. Like HBO Max, Peacock, and Disney+, now Paramount+ has also entered the game. Launched as CBS All Access a few years ago, the video-on-demand service is now replaced, or more specifically, rebranded as Paramount+. The streaming service has now become available on Chromecast, Android TV, Google TV, and Android smartphones.

Paramount+ is almost similar to its predecessor CBS All Access, but with the addition of a bunch of new original content and more. These include Originals such as the new SpongeBob SquarePants prequel series, Kamp Koral, and more. It also features the Star Trek: Discovery and Lower Decks and is said to host major films from the studio’s catalog. Some of the films include Sonic the Hedgehog, the Mission Impossible series, Bill & Ted Face the Music, and more.

Paramount+ Subscription Starts at Just $6.99

For users who are already subscribed to CBS All Access, they’ll automatically be switched to Paramount+. The new service’s subscription starts at $6.99 per month, but this tier will show ads alongside the content, throughout. However, there is an option for upgrading to a higher tier to get rid of the ads. Users can upgrade to $9.99/month and watch the Paramount+ content ads free. The service is available through an app on Android smartphones and tablets, which you can download from the Google Play Store.

Apart from this, and as said before, Paramount+ is available on Android TV, Chromecast, and Google TV. Users who want to install the service on an Android TV such as a Sony Panel or the Nvidia Shield TV, they’ll need to install a separate listing. It is also supported on the new Chromecast with Google TV. You can find the app on the “Apps” tab of your home screen. However, on older Chromecasts, you can cast from your Android or iOS smartphones.

Apart from this, Paramount+ is also accessible via the web and you can access the service on Chromebooks through paramountplus.com. You should also be able to access it through any web browser on your PC to watch your favorite movies. Of course, you need to buy a subscription to access the content.
