Poco M2 Reloaded Could Launch Soon as the Next POCO Smartphone in India, Reveals MIUI Code

Back in September 2020, POCO launched its mid-range smartphone — the POCO M2 — in India. Now it appears like the company is working on a new variant of this device and may soon launch it in India as POCO M2 Reloaded. The information about the latest POCO offering came after a code snippet was found inside MIUI 12, Xiaomi’s custom Android skin for POCO and Redmi handsets. A mention of a device called POCO M2 Reloaded was spotted in the MIUI 12 code by a senior XDA Forums member Kacper Skarzypek (@kacskrz), suggesting it could be the next POCO smartphone for India.

POCO M2 was launched back in September last year in India, which essentially was a better version of the Redmi 9 Prime. Now, POCO is gearing up to launch a new and improved variant of the POCO M2 in the country. Considering the pace at which POCO has been expanding its mid-range and budget segment, we can expect the POCO M2 Reloaded to launch soon. However, these are just our speculations and not much else is known about this alleged phone except its name. So it needs to be seen whether the smartphone actually makes it the launch or not.

POCO M2 Specifications, Features

Since there is not much information available on the upcoming POCO M2 Reloaded, we expect its specifications to be around a similar range as the POCO M2. To recall, the POCO M2 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a water drop-style notch for the selfie camera. The handset of POCO M2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC that is paired with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and runs on Android 10-based MIUI 12 on top. Along with the usual connectivity features and a microSD card slot, the phone comes with a USB Type-C port for data synchronization and charging.

For optics, the POCO M2 sports a quad rear camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. Also at the front of POCO M2, there is an 8MP snapper — housed in a water-drop notch — for taking selfies and video calling. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric unlocking of the phone.

POCO M2 Price in India
