Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i are all set to arrive on September 9 (2021) with MediaTek SoCs

Two new members are coming in the Realme 8 series.

OPPO’s subsidiary brand Realme is finishing things off for the launch of Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i officially. Realme has just sent the press note to the media that both the models will gonna release on September 9, 2021, with MediaTek processors out-of-the-box. Previously, the company has released the Realme 8 and 8 Pro in March and then the Realme 8 5G in April. Today, the company has announced that they’ll add two more models to the Realme 8 lineup on September 9 at 12:30 PM.

As per the press note sent to the media, Realme has confirmed that the Realme 8i will have the Helio G96 SoC and a 120Hz screen refresh rate. While the Realme 8s 5G will become the world’s first-ever smartphone to have the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It’s also mentioned that both smartphones will come with the Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) feature that’ll allow users to use the internal storage of the device to expand the RAM limit virtually. Although we’ve already seen that the user experience or app running in the background doesn’t improve that much.

Expected Specs of Realme 8s 5G

Although Realme didn’t mention anything specific about the device specifications, it seems that the Realme 8s 5G will come up with a 6.5-inches 90Hz refresh rate screen that includes MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, a 6GB/8GB of RAM, and a 128GB/256GB of onboard storage variant. Obviously, both the models will run on Android 11 on top of Realme UI 2.0 out-of-the-box.

The Realme 8s 5G should have a 64MP quad-camera setup on the rear side and a 16MP selfie camera in front. It’ll also feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with 33W fast charging brick.

Realme 8i Expected Specs

Whereas the Realme 8i will pack a 6.59-inches Full-HD+ 120Hz display with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage option, Android 11 (Realme UI 2.0), Helio G96 SoC, and more. It’ll have a punch-hole design at the top-left corner of the display for the 16MP selfie camera.

On the other side, the device will have a 50MP primary rear camera setup that includes 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors. The Realme 8i will be equipped with a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery apart from a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Now, we can only wait for the official release date to know more about the specs and pricing in India. There is no confirmation about the price and first sale details yet.
