Redmi K40 Gaming Edition Tipped to Launch as POCO F3 GT in India

After multiple rumors, leaks, and teasers, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition finally launched in China on Tuesday, April 27th. Now, the company is rumored to be planning to launch its latest gaming phone globally, and as per a tipster, it will be launched under the sub-brand POCO.

According to Xiaomi tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the newly launched Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be rebranded as Poco F3 GT in India. To recall, Xiaomi had also rebranded its Redmi K40 series as POCO F3 for its global launch. In India, however, the Redmi K40 was introduced as Mi 11X. But interestingly, the gaming edition is tipped to carry the name Poco F3 along with the suffix “GT.” It’s surprising to see Xiaomi use GT, which we have seen till now is associated with Realme phones, such as Realme GT and GT Neo.

Since these are just rumors and speculations from the tipster, we may still have to wait for the official confirmation to see whether the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will really be sold as Poco F3 GT in India. So before we have any official confirmation, let’s have a look at the specs of this latest gaming smartphone from Xiaomi.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs Dimensity 1200 chipset. The handset comes with up to 12GB of RAM (6/8/12GB) and up to 256GB of storage (128/256GB). For optics, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition sports a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. The front panel of the phone carries a 16MP selfie snapper for taking selfies and video chats.

Another important hardware feature that the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition includes is stereo speakers that are tuned by JBL. Further, to satisfy the gaming needs the smartphone packs a 5,065 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. Note that there is no information on when the Poco F3 GT will arrive in India, and the phone not even official in the first place.
