No doubt the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has hit the world hard. It hasn’t even spared some of the elite celebrities including the Mexican beauty Salma Hayek. She suffered from COVID-1 in the early days of the pandemic last year and kept mum till now. It was revealed during a zoom interview between Salma Hayek and Variety where she disclosed the details about the events that occurred last year when she was battling COVID-19.
Salma Hayek’s fight against COVID-19
Salma disclosed that she contracted the coronavirus in the early days of the pandemic last year. She decided to stay home quarantined even though her doctor begged her to go to a hospital. Apparently, the 54-year-old actress decided to stay at her London mansion in a home quarantine which she shares with her 13-year-old daughter Valentina and her husband Francois-Henri Pinault who is the CEO at Kering.
She further added that she would rather die at home than get admitted to a hospital for treatment. While battling COVID-19, she contracted a near-fatal dose where she was put on oxygen at one time during seven weeks of home isolation. She reported getting tested positive several times last year but she is alright now. During the interview, she did mention that she hasn’t regained all the energy post recovery which is probably one of the side-effects of the deadly virus which has affected hundreds of millions of people around the globe.
Salma Hayek is now back on set shooting for her upcoming movie House of Gucci by Ridley. It is based on true events where she plays a clairvoyant who pledged to help Patrizia Reggiana played by Lady Gaga in their quest to kill Maurizio Gucci who is Patrizia’s ex-husband in 1995.
Apart from that, Salma Hayek will play the role of Bodyguard’s wife in the movie “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” with Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds. It is a sequel to “Hitman’s Bodyguard” where Salma played a 2-minute role but with the sequel, she is the center of an attraction along with Ryan and Samuel. The movie will release on June 16. Apart from that, Marvel’s Eternals will release in November where Salma plays a prominent role.
