Rumor claims Samsung Galaxy A73 could get Samsung’s 108MP main camera

There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphones are one of the best-in-class mid-rangers in the market. Although they’re slightly overpriced than some other models, Samsung offers a couple of exclusive features that comes with flagship Galaxy devices only apart from the overall design, software experience, three years of Android updates, and four years of security patch updates. Additionally, the Galaxy A-series devices offer awesome cameras that can easily compete with others. Now, rumors are coming out that Samsung Galaxy A73 could get Samsung’s 108MP main camera setup.

If we recall, the first smartphone was Xiaomi Mi Note 10 that supports a 108 MP main camera in 2019. Then Xiaomi has started providing 108MP sensors to its couple of device models. While some other brands also jumped into the 108MP race recently. Talking about Samsung, they only offer this resolution in their flagship devices such as Galaxy S-series and Note series models. Now, the company has most probably decided to go with the 108MP primary camera setup with the upcoming Galaxy A73 model.

Obviously, it’ll be the first time when Samsung will start using the high-resolution camera sensor on any of its mid-range devices. However, there is no official confirmation available yet on this info. So, we can’t actually rely on such leaks or rumors completely until some genuine sources or announcements come out in the upcoming weeks or so. Additionally, it will be great because the Galaxy A73 will be able to directly compete with Xiaomi or other branded devices with the same kind of camera resolution soon.

If we look at the previously released Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra, they came with a 108MP main sensor & performs really well which is expected from such a reputed brand. While the latest Galaxy S21 Ultra has the ISOCELL HM3 sensor for the 108MP camera that uses a 1/1.33″ sensor with 0.8μm-sized pixels. Whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro came with the ISOCELL HM2 1/1.52″ sensor for 108MP camera.

We’re hoping that Samsung will continue including the 108MP sensor in more models in the upcoming future. Whereas some reports are also coming out that the company is working to include the OIS feature to the entire 2022 Galaxy A-series models for head-to-head competition in the market. We’ll have to wait for more valid reports to understand better.
