In late March, Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. However, the 4G variant of the handset was still powered by the Exynos 990 SoC. Now, the South Korean giant has silently launched the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC chipset, making both 4G and 5G variants of the phone run the Qualcomm chip.
According to the reports, the new variant of the Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Snapdragon 865 SoC has been launched in several markets including Germany, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The Qualcomm-powered S20 4G comes with model number SM-G780G. Notably, this model number is slightly different from the original Exynos-powered S20 FE 4G model number SM-G780F. Apart from the change in SoCs, both the variants of the Galaxy S20 FE 4G are identical. The S20 4G with Exynos 990 was launched in India and various global markets last year.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G (SD865) Price
The new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC price starts at MYR 2,299 (roughly ₹41,200) for the 8GB + 128GB variant. In Malaysia, Samsung’s official retail partner Shopee has listed the smartphone in three colors — Blue, Orange, and Violet. Apart from this e-commerce site listing, the phone has also been listed on the company’s local sites in Malaysia, Germany, and Vietnam.
Currently, there is no information on when/if the Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Snapdragon 865 chipset will be made available in other markets including India.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G (SD865) Specifications
Speaking of the specifications, the new 4G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE, as said before, carries the Snapdragon 865 system-on-a-chip (SoC). All other specifications should remain the same as the smartphone is identical to the older model, except for a different chipset. The new handset comes with 8GB of RAM and currently has 128GB of onboard storage, which may likely get to 256GB like the original model. Further, the S20 FE 4G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy S20 FE 4G sports a triple rear camera setup with a 12MP sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8MP telephoto lens. At the front, there’s a 32MP snapper for selfies and video chats. Further, the handset packs a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. It also comes with wireless charging support.
