Samsung Improves the Camera Performance and Quick Share on the Galaxy S20 Series

Samsung recently themed its Google Messages app on the Galaxy S21, bringing it in line with other One UI themed apps. The company is now working on updating the Galaxy S21 series to the May 2021 security update. In Germany, last year’s flagship lineup is getting the security update that comes with the firmware version G98xxXXU7DUDB.

Apart from the monthly security update, the Galaxy S20 update also brings in some changes and improvements to the software. The official changelog suggests that the update improves the camera performance and the Quick Share function. One interesting thing to note is that the Galaxy S21 series received the same set of updates.

Samsung has been prompt to release security updates ahead of schedule. The smartphone manufacturer has already provisions in place to update devices such as the Galaxy S20 Series, Galaxy S21 Series, and the Galaxy Flip 5G. The changes and the content of the Android Security update should be known in the coming days.

Samsung Improves the Camera Performance and Quick Share on the Galaxy S20 Series

If you are unfamiliar with the Samsung Quick Share feature, it is kind of Samsung’s own file sharing service. You can share everything from images, videos to documents, with up to five friends at the same time. It is similar to Google’s File Sharing feature. You can easily see which of your contacts are nearby so you can easily share media with them.

Having said that, the contents of the Android security update are still yet unknown. We cannot blame Samsung nor Google, since it’s still April and the security update is for May. The May Security update for the Galaxy S20 series is fairly large compared to other month’s security updates. It can be downloaded as an OTA update and has a download size of 600MB. Currently, the update is available only in Germany.

In case you own any of the Galaxy S20 series smartphones, you will get a notification in the coming days asking you to download the OTA. In case you don’t receive the notification, you can also manually search for the OTA using the company’s Software update menu in the Settings app of your phone. Since the update is quite large, we recommend you download it over Wi-Fi to avoid extra data charges.
