Samsung W23 5G foldable smartphone will launch on October 21, 2022, in China

With every year, more and more smartphone OEMs are focusing on foldable smartphones to be future-ready. While Samsung is leading the foldable smartphone segment in the market right now across the globe, Motorola, OPPO, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc brands are trying to get into this segment as early as possible. After the extreme success of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Z Fold4, Z Flip3, and Z Flip4 models, the company is all set to release a new Samsung W23 5G foldable smartphone model on October 21, 2022, in China.

Well, the Galaxy Z Fold4 model will be rebranded as the W23 5G in China to capture its market. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is already open to buying the Galaxy Z Fold4 model as the latest 2022 edition. So, the ‘W’ branding for Samsung Galaxy foldable devices might be applicable to Chinese variants. Samsung and China Telecom officially shared a launch poster of the Samsung W23 5G device for the masses on 21st Oct 2022.

So, stay tuned for that. If you’re residing in China then it’ll be easier for you to get the live stream of the launch and be a part of the Samsung W23 5G family to start the foldable device journey, unless you haven’t used any foldable yet. Samsung has already introduced the W22 5G in October of last year and W23 5G is the successor this time. The upcoming model launch event will start at 7:00 PM local time in China.

As per the report by GSMArena, a leaked poster claims that Samsung will also launch the W23 Flip variant in China that’ll most likely be a custom one of the Galaxy Z Flip4 model. So, both the Samsung W23 5G and W23 Flip models will be sold via China Telecom, exclusive in China.

While some other reports suggest that Samsung may include more RAM up to 16GB for both the W23 series models in China to compete with other high-end smartphones in the local market. Samsung doesn’t have any reputable market share in China but foldable devices from Samsung have a good reach. So, the craze for foldable devices from such a reputed brand might attract users in China.

Even if this step becomes successful, it’ll take a couple of years for Samsung to get a reliable customer base and fan base like other regions.
