A couple of weeks ago, Sony has teased a new snap-on cooler device for its Xperia 1 IV smartphone so that the hardcore gamers and streamers can go on in full swing without worrying about overheating. Although Sony smartphones are quite costly and offer stunning hardware specifications, they aren’t dedicated to mobile gaming for hours.
So, this upcoming cooling device or fan is compatible with the Xperia 1 IV smartphone to make it cool enough. Overheating issues can eventually bring performance conflicts on any device and gaming always requires the higher performance of the hardware so that it can go smoothly. Dedicated gaming smartphones like Asus ROG and Nubia RedMagic do offer powerful hardware & software optimization, better in-device cooling features, and more.
So, only the external cooling fan won’t make any huge difference in real-life experience but it still can reduce the heat up to some extent. At least users won’t feel too much warm while holding the phone which can also affect the gaming experience. Sony did mention that they have designed Xperia Stream in collaboration with e-Sports professional players in terms of comfort.
This new accessory has a mesh cutout around the cooling fan including exhaust vents on both sides. So, the cooling fan blows out all the heat of the device and Xperia Stream. It quickly snaps onto your smartphone and connects via the USB-C cable with the device for powering up the fan.
The Xperia Stream comes with a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack and an RJ45 Ethernet port for dedicated gaming which requires lower latency. The cooling accessory does come with a USB-C port for charging the phone and a dedicated HDMI port as well. That means users can simply connect their capture card to broadcast their gameplay at 1080p resolution which also supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
Once connected, all the cables will go downwards so that users can hold their phones easily and play games for hours without any distractions. Sony has listed the Xperia Stream on its official website but there are no actual price details available yet. Meanwhile, you can find out the Gaming Edition bundle listed too.
Now, if you’re one of the interested persons to get a hands-on of it, you can try it out at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 starts on September 15, 2022. Otherwise, you can get the Sony Xperia 5 IV when it launches. Talking about the price of the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition bundle, Sony Japan online store may accept pre-orders.
The bundle offers a smartphone with 16GB of RAM and costs 189,200 yen (approx $1,330). Customers can also pre-order the Xperia Stream separately at a 23,100 yen ($162) price tag. The device might release on October 14, 2022.
