University of California will suspend SAT and ACT testing admission requirement until 2024

The Board of Regents unanimously voted Thursday to reevaluate the standardized testing conditions for applicants, the university procedure announced at a press release.

“We’re removing the ACT/SAT dependence on California students and having a brand new evaluation that closely aligns in that which people expect incoming students to understand to demonstrate their readiness for UC,” Napolitano said.

In case a brand new evaluation doesn’t meet the criteria punctually for admissions for autumn of 20 25, UC will expel the standardized testing demand of California students, by the press release. UC will focus on a different approach to outofstate and global students.

During March, UC schools temporarily suspended SAT/ACT conditions for the collapse of 2021 applicants as a result of coronavirus pandemic.

UC will always stay standardized testing discretionary through 20 22. Applicants in 2023 and 2024 will have the choice to submit their evaluation scores. However, it is going just to be contemplated for purposes like course positioning, individual scholarships, and eligibility to receive its admissions warranty.
