What If…? Episode rejected, revealed too much about upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

What If…? writer AC Bradley ( Arrow and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia) recently came up with an idea for a new episode for the upcoming series What If…?, but was shot down prematurely when executive producer Bryan Andrews revealed that Marvel’s top head Kevin Feige felt it was very similar to the second half of Guardian of Galaxy Vol. 3.

When IGN tried to sneak in some more details about the episode and how it came to be this was her response:

“I’m going to stay away from that question,”

“walked [executive producer] Brad Winderbaum through all my hard work only to find out I accidentally pitched the back half of [Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3]. So I stay away from Mr. James Gunn and his brilliance and his work, and I did go home after that day and cracked open a beer and be like, ‘well that’s going to be an amazing movie but now I gotta go back to the drawing board.'”

The animated multiverse anthology is the next big thing after the shocking season finale of Loki to grace our screens. While the multiverse is official, a lot of storylines are also in the air now, and seems like clashes are happening.

This isn’t the first time Bradley has faced a similar situation, in an interview with Direct, Bradley confirmed that some storylines that she was planning for her series What If…? were addressed in movies like Avengers Endgame and the soon-to-come Thor: Love and Thunder.

“My first week, I wanted to do Jane Foster Thor and I was told no,”

“I went into a whole feminist rant of why characters are important and why they’re necessary and why a woman needs to be able to wield the hammer and then they were like, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna do it in live-action.'”

It seems like great minds think alike when it comes to Marvel movies. One thing is for sure we are going to get some interesting plotlines in all these series and movies. Even though What If…? comes under the banner of an animated series, it will play a key role in bringing the multiverse to its full fruition.

“The events of What If…? are canon. It’s part of the MCU multiverse. The multiverse is here. It is real, and it is absolutely fantastic, people.”

Bradley said when she talked about the importance of What If…? And its canon nature after Loki finale.

What If...?

We are eagerly waiting for the show and if the cast of the show is any indication, then it’s going to be a blast. Some of the animated forms would include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barns, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and the late Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa.

As far as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is concerned we just know that Karen Gillan (Nebula), Chris Sullivan (Taserface), Benicio del Toro (aka The Collector), Kurt Russell (Ego), and Michael Rooker (Yondu) will reprise their roles.

The anthology What If….? will debut on Disney+, August 11, with season 1, and will run for nine episodes. It is also rumored to have started on the second season already.

So keep your eyes on it and make sure you don’t miss out on some crackling and jaw-dropping content on August 11!
