Xiaomi is known for coming up with products that offer a premium experience at an affordable price. However, the company changed all of that with the introduction of the Mi QLED 75 TV.
During the Mi Mega Launch event that took place this Friday afternoon, the company announced that it is bringing its largest and most premium TV to the Indian market. This is the first time Xiaomi has dived into the premium TV segment, with all its previous offerings aimed at entry-level or mid-range customers.
The Mi Mega Launch event also witnessed the launch of the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11X, and the Mi 11X Pro. Unsurprisingly, these smartphones also belong to the premium price segment. Xiaomi has tapped the big screen market, which currently has only a few players such as LG and Samsung.
Mi QLED TV 75 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi QLED TV comes with a 75-inch QLED 4K UHD screen with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160. It is coupled with a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+, and support for 192 zones of full array dynamic local dimming. It is powered by the MediaTek MT 9611 processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, backed by the Mali G62 P2 GPU, and paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
It offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 97 percent with a frame made up of an aluminum alloy. It runs on Android 10 out of the box. Some apps such as Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime come pre-installed. As is the case with Xiaomi’s other offering, the Mi QLED TV 75 comes with hands-free control with support for both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
The 30W speakers include two tweeters and four woofers for a premium sound experience. Dolby Atmos is available through HDMI, with the TV already featuring support for Dolby Audio. Chromecast support is built-in, with the TV offering other standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI 2.1 port, two USB ports, and two HDMI 2.0 ports.
Mi QLED TV 75 Price
Compared to other large screen TVs in the segment, the Mi QLED TV 75 is aggressively priced. With a price tag of Rs 1,19,999, Xiaomi’s offering is cheaper compared to similar sized TVs from both Sony and Samsung. HDFC Bank Card users are eligible for an instant discount of Rs 7,500. How Xiaomi will fare in the segment remains to be seen, since not many people opt for big screens at home.
