»Yashahime«: First teaser for the new »InuYasha« anime

As part of the Otakon 2020 online convention, a first teaser video for the new anime series “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon” (Japanese: “Hanyo no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogi Soshi”) was recently shown, which you can see below can see.

New anime starts in autumn

The spin-off anime is created under the direction of Teruo Sato (Assistant Director for “InuYasha: The Final Act”) at Studio SUNRISE. “InuYasha” Mangaka Rumiko Takahashi acts as supervisor, while Katsuyuki Sumisawa is responsible for the screenplay, Yoshihito Hishinuma as animation director and Kaoru Wada contributing the music.

The new series will start on Japanese television in autumn 2020 and will play in the same universe as »InuYasha«. The focus is on the daughters of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. You can find the first details of the plot below.

The 167-part anime series “InuYasha” was broadcast on Japanese television from October 2000 to September 2004. A 26-part sequel series ran from October 2009 to March 2010 in Japan. In Germany, the anime is fully available on disc from KAZÉ.

In feudal Japan, the half-demonic twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other in a forest fire. In desperate search for her younger sister, Towa falls into a mysterious fountain that sends her to today’s Japan, where she meets Sota, the brother of Kagome Higurashi, and is raised there by his family.

The tunnel that connects the two epochs is opened ten years later. Towa returns to her original time and meets Setsuna. But to Towa’s alarm, she seems to have lost all memories of her older sister.

Together with Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women embark on an adventure trip between the two ages to find their lost past.
