YouTube rolls out ‘Listening Controls’ for Premium subscribers on Android and iOS

With the latest update, YouTube Premium now offers its subscribers ‘Listening Controls’ across iOS and Android platforms. Through this added feature, users are given more control over YouTube music while listening from the app. In essence, it lets you play, pause, forward, and even rewind videos on YouTube. We already know that YouTube Premium offers ad-free streaming as well.

The new feature will replace everything that appears below the video option once it has been activated. What’s even better is that the Listening Controls remain active even when you switch to another YouTube video. Through the YouTube Premium app’s listening controls, YouTube Premium subscribers can eventually save new songs to a playlist of their choice.

According to reports, users of both Android and iOS can now access listening controls. Currently, the feature is only being rolled out to the Premium version of YouTube, not the standard free version. Currently, it’s only available in the USA and will soon be available in the other regions as well. The new feature is accessible by clicking the three-dots icon in the top-right corner of the YouTube video. Make sure to choose ‘Listening Controls’ from the options that pop up at the bottom of YouTube.

In addition, the new Listening Controls widget is also displaying everything at the bottom of the YouTube video inside of the app itself for Android and iOS. It basically has buttons for playing and pausing videos as well as going to the next or previous video. Moreover, users will also be able to fast forward or rewind for 10 seconds of the video. Furthermore, the widget will also feature a “like” button.
