If you think about it, Android Bubbles do not add anything to the mobile ecosystem. Instead, they are considered to be one of the most useless features.
If you happen to be someone who loved the feature, we are here to tell you that you will soon have to bid goodbye to Bubbles. Powering apps like Facebook Messenger, Bubbles allowed users to access certain apps from anywhere by tapping them.
But Google seems to have incorporated some user feedback and is planning on ditching them in favor of something called ‘Chips.’ The change was spotted in the Android 12 Google Dialer app that brings in a brand new API that shows the call in a chip-styled notification.
This enables developers to display different statuses for both incoming and outgoing calls. The new chips pick up color scheme from the brand new Material You theme engine.
If you happen to run Android 12 Beta 3.1, you might have noticed that bubbles are being gradually replaced when using the Google Dialer app. Google finally seems to be taking the step in the right direction since most users hated the intrusive bubble popup.
