On Monday, Broadcom revealed it has entered into a comprehensive long-term partnership with Google focused on designing and delivering advanced custom AI processors and associated components extending through 2031. This arrangement encompasses next-generation AI rack infrastructure and builds upon Broadcom’s existing collaboration in producing Google’s proprietary tensor processing units (TPUs).

Simultaneously, Broadcom announced an enhanced partnership with Anthropic. Under this agreement, the artificial intelligence company will gain access to approximately 3.5 gigawatts of processing power utilizing Google’s TPU technology, scheduled for deployment beginning in 2027.
Neither agreement included publicly disclosed financial details in the regulatory filings.
These announcements align with statements from Broadcom Chief Executive Hock Tan during the previous month’s earnings conference call. Tan indicated that Broadcom was already delivering approximately 1 gigawatt of computational capacity to Anthropic via Google’s TPUs during 2026. He projected this demand would expand beyond 3 gigawatts by the following year.
Anthropic’s explosive growth validates these projections. The firm confirmed its annualized revenue run rate has surpassed $30 billion, a dramatic increase from approximately $9 billion recorded at the conclusion of 2025. Additionally, Anthropic now serves more than 1,000 enterprise customers each contributing over $1 million annually — representing a doubling of this metric within just two months.
Wall Street Projects Substantial Revenue Boost for Broadcom
Analysts from Mizuho, headed by Vijay Rakesh, quantified the potential financial impact of these agreements for Broadcom. Their projections suggest $21 billion in AI-related revenue attributable to Anthropic during 2026, with expectations for this figure to reach $42 billion in 2027. These numbers represent analyst forecasts rather than confirmed contractual amounts.
Anthropic characterized the expanded partnership as part of its larger commitment to deploy $50 billion toward U.S.-based computing infrastructure. The organization trains and operates its Claude language model across diverse hardware platforms, including AWS Trainium processors, Google TPUs, and Nvidia GPUs. Amazon continues to serve as Anthropic’s principal cloud infrastructure provider and training partner.
The Claude application experienced a notable spike in mainstream adoption earlier this year, temporarily reaching the number one position among free applications in the U.S. Apple App Store during February, coinciding with widespread media coverage of tensions between Anthropic and Pentagon officials.
OpenAI Partnership Expands Broadcom’s Custom Chip Portfolio
Broadcom’s custom semiconductor initiatives extend beyond the Google-Anthropic ecosystem. The semiconductor company is simultaneously partnering with OpenAI on bespoke chip development.
OpenAI has separately committed to deploying six gigawatts of AMD GPU capacity, with the initial gigawatt anticipated to come online during the latter half of this year. Both OpenAI and Anthropic maintain substantial dependence on Nvidia GPU infrastructure accessed through leading cloud service providers.
Broadcom shares posted approximately 3% gains in after-hours trading immediately following Monday’s disclosure.
