As we’ve previously mentioned, Google is going to release its flagship Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro this fall. It’s quite interesting to see that Google has done something different from its previous generation of Pixel devices. Pixel devices are known for the stock Android experience, stunning cameras, faster software updates, flagship-grade performance, and more. Pixel 6 lineup is no exception here and we’ll say that this time both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be much powerful and secured than ever.
Talking about the new features or additions to the upcoming Pixel 6 lineup, this time Google has decided to come up with its own chipset rather than using Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Just like Apple and its products, it seems that Google is also trying to create its own sort of device lineup with its own sort of hardware for better optimization and integration with the software whatsoever.
Google Tensor Chipset
Yes! This time Google is all ready to release its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro with the first-ever Tensor chipset that has been rumored to be made by Samsung. But there are not enough resources available yet on the internet so that we can confirm it. Nevertheless, the Google tensor chipset will obviously be one of the flagships or you can say powerful AI-packed processors which will be highly compatible and optimized for Pixel UI. It’s needless to say that the Tensor chipset will remain exclusive for the Pixel 6 lineup and higher models.
‘Google Tensor’ chipset is also formerly known as ‘Whitechapel’ which means the chipset has been designed by Google itself. Although there are no performance-specific leaks or reports available yet, Rick Osterloh said to The Verge that both the CPU and GPU in Tensor should be on the higher side (market-leading). So, the custom-made chipset for Pixel will be faster, smarter, and secure than ever on Pixel devices.
Google Pixel 6 Specs
Both the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will have the Tensor chipset for sure. Now, starting with the Pixel 6 model, it’ll have a 6.4-inches Full-HD resolution OLED display that offers a 90Hz screen refresh rate. It’ll have a flat panel of glass on top rather than using any sort of curved screen which may look simple but effective. There will be an under-display fingerprint sensor. It will have 128GB/256GB of onboard storage
It will have a metal frame, coated in a matte texture just like the Pixel 4 series. We can see multiple color options with a matte finish for a subtle look. Whereas the Titan M2 chip will be there for providing maximum security. There will be a standard 50MP wide-angle and ultra-wide lens. We don’t know about the battery capacity exactly but it’s expected to have an ‘all day’ battery life thing. While the 33W fast charging facility will juice up the battery quickly.
Google Pixel 6 Pro Specs
The Google Pixel 6 Pro will come up with a bigger 6.7-inches QHD+ resolution OLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a curved glass on top of the screen which is very slight for a subtle look and feel. There will be an aluminum frame for making it stronger. It has an under-display fingerprint sensor.
Talking about the hardware, the Pixel 6 Pro will also have a Tensor chip with Titan M2, 50MP standard wide lens along with 12MP ultrawide lens. The ultrawide lens also works as a telephoto up to 4x. Meanwhile, the 6 Pro would have a 256GB/512GB onboard storage option. Additionally, there is no exact battery size available yet but it’s expected to be around 4,600 – 5,000 mAh respectively. To charge that battery, it’ll support 33W fast charging apart from fast wireless charging.
We may have to wait for more to get additional features or hardware specs.
