Rumors and speculations have always been part of Marvel movies and series. During the famous endings, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, fans had manifested their theories and the media left no leaf unturned to boost them. Something similar is happening with Spider-Man No Way Home the new hotspot of rumors.
Spider-Man No Way Home is smack in the middle of speculation due to the Loki season finale, which opened door to endless possibilities through its multiverse ending. Now that anything is possible in the Multiverse universe, fans are not standing back with opinions.
The rumors for the movie include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as their past versions of Spider-Man in Spider-Man No Way Home. They are also theorized to bring back their love interest Emma Stone ( Gwen Stacy) and Kristen Dunst (Mary Jane) with them. It appears that fans really want to see a reunion of all the friendly neighborhood Spider-Mans. And that is not the end of it, Sandman, Lizard, Rhino, Green Goblin are also part of this long list of speculated appearances.
What fuels the fan’s speculations you ask, is the early confirmed report that Alfred Molina would be returning in the movie as Spider-Man 2’s Doc Ock. Not only this but Jamie Foxx also confirmed his return (and then deleted ) as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
What seems to be an endless and ever-growing fan’s cast list has just had some new additions as well. Daredevil stars are being added to the roll of “They can be in Spider-Man No Way Home” and one of them has something to say about it.
The first one to be suspected of being cast was Charlie Cox, who could not attend San Antonio-based Celebrity Fan Fest’s upcoming convention because of a “last-minute filming schedule” change. Fans found this a, too good to be true coincidence, as No Way Home was also wrapping up its additional photography at the same time. Also, the last known production Charlie Cox was involved in was an Irish drama Kin which had already wrapped its production, giving heat to the speculations.
Amongst all this chaos came our latest crazy internet rumor. Pelicomic posted on Twitter a photo that became the root cause of the frenzy.
The picture involved Kristen Dunst ( Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3) walking with what looked like Deborah Ann Woll, Marvel’s Daredevil star in a mask. They even implied that both of them might appear together in Spider-Man No Way Home.
But to our surprise, this gossip did not last long when Deborah Ann Woll took to Twitter and confirmed that it was not her in that picture.
Woll’s denial should have been enough to kill the buzz but some were quite quick to point out how her ear shape matched with the lady in the picture. Arguments were made against her claim, seems like fans are just not going to take no for an answer.
While these gossips and Twitter feuds have been hilarious, it is abundantly clear that they should only be taken with a grain of salt.
Marvel Studios and Sony have officially spoken and revealed very little about the upcoming Spider-Man No Way Home. The only thing known for sure is that all the core supporting characters from the previous MCU films would be back and Benedict Cumberbatch would be gracing us with his presence as Doctor Strange as well.
But hopefully, you won’t have to wait longer, seeing that Tom Holland (lead of Spider-Man No Way Home) has a great track record of revealing something interesting every time before the film release.
