After years of demand from users, Spotify is finally rolling out the real-time lyrics feature across its apps globally. The music and podcast streaming service has announced that it would add support for real-time lyrics on its apps across all devices, including on Android TV and Google TV.
Starting Thursday, Spotify has rolled out the live lyrics feature to all Free and Premium users globally across Android and iOS devices, desktops, gaming consoles, and TV. The company has partnered with Musixmatch to “bring song lyrics to life through in-app access across the majority of their extensive library of tracks.” The good thing is that the real-time lyrics are rolled out to Android TV / Google TV apps as well.
Real-time Lyrics on Spotify: How to Find?
Live lyrics was one of the most requested features on Spotify by listeners across the globe. So after almost a year of iterating and testing, the audio streaming service has brought it for users globally — across all devices. Here’s how you can find the lyrics on the Spotify mobile app and the SpotifyTV app.
On the Spotify mobile app, first tap on the “Now Playing View” on a song, and while listening, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Now, you’ll see the lyrics that scroll in real-time as the song is playing. This feature has been there on most music streaming apps, but Spotify was lacking.
Apart from this, Spotify has explicitly confirmed that this feature is also supported on Android/Google TV. Not just this, the live lyrics feature is now also available on gaming consoles, including PlayStation and Xbox, Roku, Fire TV, and select other TVs. To see lyrics on the SpotifyTV app, first, open the “Now Playing View” on a song. Now navigate to the right corner to the “lyrics button.” You can select it to enable lyrics, and the lyrics will appear in the “Now Playing” view.
