Apple launched its latest iPhone series, the iPhone 13 lineup, on September 14. The top-end model in the series is the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it has the biggest Pro camera system upgrade ever. While the device delivers amazing CPU and GPU performance, the Geekbench ML scores for the handset are also out. Max Weinbach, a freelance writer at AndroidPolice, shared iPhone 13 Pro Max Geekbench ML scores on Twitter, revealing the machine learning performance of Apple’s biggest smartphone. Check out the Geekbench ML scores for iPhone 13 Pro Max below:
iPhone 13 Pro Max Geekbench ML scores
On Monday, Apple released iOS 15.1, an upgrade to the system software for iPhones. Max conducted Geekbench ML tests on his iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 15.1 and posted the results on Twitter. In the TensorFlow Lite Core ML test, the device scored 2212 points running Apple’s powerful 6-core A15 Bionic processor. The handset scored 2061 points in the TensorFlow Lite GPU test and 945 in the TensorFlow Lite CPU test. These results show that the latest high-end iPhone is way faster than its predecessor, iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The A15 chip in the iPhone 13 series comes equipped with advanced machine learning, thanks to the Bionic machine learning co-processor. This is especially great for apps that rely on CoreML to perform text, image, or camera machine learning tasks. Live Text in iOS 15 is the best example of this.
Google has also released its in-house chipset, the Google Tensor SoC. The chip has already stood out as the fastest processor in GPU benchmarks. It will be interesting to see how Tensor performs in Geekbench ML scores.
