If you are an attentive Fortnite player, you might know that the third act of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic has already begun.
The comic has mashed up characters from the Fortnite and the Batman universe. Batman, Catwoman, along with other DC characters, have been thrown into the world of Fortnite. Apart from the island of Fortnite, circumstances outside the game are also shown.
If you a fan of the new comic series, every character in the comic hasn’t made it out alive from the game. This particular article contains spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5, so read only if you are comfortable with the same.
So, some characters have finally been able to escape from the Loop and are now wandering into the catacombs that lie beneath the island of Fortnite. They want to know how the island works in order to be able to get back to their homeworld. Batman, Catwoman, and Deathstroke, and some Fortnite characters eventually find their way to Zero Point, the source of the energy that powers the island.
Eternal Voyager immediately runs towards the Zero Point, telling others that he wants to harness the energy to “voyage for all eternity.” Eventually, Voyager jumps into the energy with his body shattered into a million pieces. The pieces shatter into different planes of reality. Voyager’s wish was fulfilled according to the other characters since his body was sent to different universes.
The way voyager dies is the reason why fans are shocked. Over the last few years, many people have embraced the character. The splash page of his body in the comics also gives us a glimpse into the Fortnite multiverse.
During a press conference that was held earlier this year, the artist behind Zero Point, Reilly Brown, said
There are so many cool character designs and concepts in the Fortnite crowd that I’d love to explore some of them. Especially because there are so, so many of them are unwritten yet. You just gotta look at them and you wonder, ‘Oh, what type of world is this person from? Like Cuddle Team Leader, is she from a world where everybody just dresses like sports mascots, or is she the one person that does is because it’s her job? Or is she a crime fighter over there too?’ Because if you look at our book, you have Batman and Catwoman coming by, and they both dress like bats and cats, and that’s not the way that everybody got them city dresses. It kind of makes you think ‘Who are all these guys? What are their worlds like, and how do they fit in?’ And so I think that that would be a lot of fun too.
