If you are waiting for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, we have some good news for you. Announced by Collider, Ron Periman, who played the role of Hellboy, is replacing Garry Chalk as Optimus Primal.
Garry had played the character earlier in Transformers: Power of the Primes. If you are unfamiliar with Optimal Primus, you should know that he happens to be the leader of Maximals and the captain of the Alaxon ship. Oh, and his beast mode is a gorilla.
Last week, the film was announced and will be the first movie Beast Wars movie in the Transformers franchise. Up until now, the series has only focused on Decepticons and Autobots. However, the new movie will explore and tell us more about Maximals, Terrorcons, and Predacons.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer of the movie, said,
One of the most important things we were trying to do, with this movie, is give the audience a lot of ‘new. Our hope was ‘how do we find a new set of villains?’ and ‘how do we find a new set of priorities for these villains?’ If you’ve seen and been a fan of the other movies, you’re going to see villains you’ve never seen before, you’re going to see Autobots you’ve never seen before. It’s one of the driving decisions we’re making. Fortunately for us, Transformers has a lot of tribes so there’s a really large base of characters. This movie is bringing a lot of those tribes together.
The film is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and will be released on June 24, 2022. Are you excited to see now tribes of transformers? Let us know in the comment below!
