According to reports, WhatsApp is working on the ‘Create your own stickers’ feature that was spotted in a beta build. The feature should be released pretty soon for WhatsApp users with the stable build. According to tipster Mukul Sharma’s tip to 91mobiles, the feature has been spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp and will be available for everyone within a week.
A screenshot is provided below showing a ‘create’ text and ‘+’ icon under the “Search via WhatsApp Sticker” option. In addition to being able to upload a picture of their choice, WhatsApp users will also be able to turn it into a sticker as well without the assistance of a third-party app. There may also be some customization tools in the sticker editor so that users can tweak or add some text manually. The official timeline for the inclusion of this feature in the stable build has not been announced yet.
Currently, WhatsApp only permits third-party sticker apps to add their own or customized stickers. The feature will be quite interesting to use, and additional improvements and features will be added in the very near future. It is most likely that the feature will be available for Android first, followed by iOS. In the sticker section, the new create icon will be placed, which will be easier for WhatsApp users to use.
Also, the company is reportedly working into increasing the time limit for users to delete messages. Within 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds, WhatsApp users can delete all messages for everyone in a chat. In the future, the time limit might increase. At the moment, the feature is running through beta testing, so it could take some time before a stable version is released. It was spotted on WhatsApp Desktop Beta 2.2147.4, which will change the time limit to 6 days and 8 minutes.
