There have been quite some rumors about the ASUS’ upcoming ZenFone 8 series, which is said to include three handsets. Earlier, the Asus ZenFone 8 Mini had appeared on Geekbench which confirmed the upcoming smartphone series will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. But now, another device from the series has been spotted in a Geekbench listing. According to XDA Developers, this is a vanilla ZenFone 8, but some sources claim that this is the ASUS ZenFone 8 Pro.
Whether it’s the vanilla or Pro model of the ASUS ZenFone 8 series, the device will still feature the Snapdragon 888 SoC and pack 8GB of RAM. A lot of things appear to be similar in all the three models, it’ll be interesting to see how they differ from each other. Here’s what the Geekbench listing says about the Asus ZenFone 8 / 8 Pro.
The ASUS ZenFone 8 series device has appeared on Geekbench benchmarking site with model number ASUS_I004D with a Lahaina motherboard. This confirms that the device will indeed be running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. The breakdown of the kernel source code by XDA reveals that the model number should correspond to the ZenFone 8. Further, the listing reveals that this particular device has 8GB of RAM and runs Android 11 out of the box.
Asus ZenFone 8 Expected Specifications
There is very little information about the specifications of the ASUS ZenFone 8, but according to previous leaks, the phone will feature an AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Since this is the top-of-the-line flavor, it should sport a 6.67-inch display panel. For cameras, there could be a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor alongside a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide lens. The ZenFone 8 series is also rumored to bring 30W fast charging.
