Many of us, Mario fans, were waiting for the release of Mario Golf: Super Rush. The game is all set to be launched exclusively on Nintendo’s flagship console, the Switch.
It is a multiplayer game developed by Camelot Software Planning. It seems like Nintendo loves the studio when it comes to Mario’s sports-themed games. This is the same studio that has brought us the likes of the 2018 Mario Tennis Aces and the 2017 Mario Sports Superstars. The latter focused on various challengers across the Kingdom who participated in numerous athletic games.
Every Mario sports-themed title has its own set of twists and takes on a particular sport. You can compare it with what Mario Kart does for the racing genres. Mario Golf: Super rush introduces the concept of “Speed Golf.”
So, what is Speed Golf?
The game was announced at Nintendo’s Direct conference that took place in February this year. The new game mode takes on the concept of traditional golf by, instead of being accurate, encourages players to speed up considerably. The first player to put the ball in the hole will be the winner. The only thing that matters is what gets in the ball first.
It doesn’t matter how many swings you take or how close you are to the hole. Moreover, unlike in normal gold where you take turns, all contestants will take the swing at the same time. The game also offers unique abilities using which you can slowdown or affect the overall progress of other users.
For example, Luigi has the potential & skill to freeze the ground. It makes the opponent lose their footing. Of course, the game also offers traditional gold in case you want to enjoy some normal golf. Mario Golf: Super Rush also has a story-driven adventure if you are tired of playing the multiplayer aspect.
Mario Golf: Super Rush release date and price
Coming to the release date, the game will be available starting June 25. If you want to order the game’s physical copy, you can buy one using numerous retailers. The Nintendo eShop will also be selling the game online with a price tag of $59.99.
