LG has promised three years of OS updates for its latest flagship smartphones after it announced it was exiting the smartphone market due to years of unsuccessful competition. LG made a great move to keep the faith of its fans and users even after shuttering its mobile business. Now LG has officially announced that they will also be closing their developer website. Therefore, LG users have the last chance to unlock their devices’ bootloaders.
Sadly, the plan didn’t work out and LG has been unable to provide bootloader unlocking keys to interested customers. On the developer website, the company has recently announced the following:

LG made the difficult decision to close its mobile phone business to focus on other businesses that will provide new experiences and value for consumers. Hereby, we inform you that the service of LG Mobile Developer is scheduled to terminate on December 31st, 2021.

• Termination date: December 31, 2021 24:00 (KST, GMT + 9)After the service is terminated, all information provided on the website and issuing the bootloader unlock key will not be available. Personal information collected to provide services will be destroyed. However, we store personal information for a fixed period of time if required by relevant laws and regulations.

According to the announcement, LG will discontinue the LG Mobile Developer website service by the end of December 31st, 2021. It needs to be noted that after terminating the service, the information on the website and the bootloader unlock key will no longer be available after Dec 31, 2021.
