Previously, we wrote about the colorful weather widget on the One UI 4.0 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S21 series. Now, the One UI 4.0 Beta 3 update has arrived recently for the Galaxy S21 series, which includes a couple of fixes and some improvements, such as a redesigned weather app with beautiful animations and an overall improved UI. At the moment, it is only available in South Korea, but it is likely to be released in other regions soon.
This new update fixes the partially untranslated menus after the portable update, Android 12 overscroll effect from glow to stretch form, improves misrecognition of voice commands in the camera app, applies pet lighting effect, stabilizes color theme function, fixes keyboard shortcut issue, fixes call/text termination on other devices, fixes calling Bixby not working on the lock screen, fixes system UI force close issue and some other improvements have also been incorporated.
As one of the highlights from this update, Samsung has removed the annoying ads from its stock apps (first-party apps) that we’ve seen previously on Android 11 (One UI 3.0/3.1). The ads appear to be gone in the newly redesigned weather app on top of One UI 4.0 Beta 3, which indicates the upcoming stable version will be largely free of ads.
The new graphics and animations, from refreshing the app info to scrolling up down the page, to icons that are appearing, everything looks really good & soothing to the eyes. Those who applied for the beta testing program in South Korea are receiving the new One UI 4 Beta 3 build based on Android 12.
On the weather app, the daytime and nighttime animations as well as the entire interface seem cool and trendy. Currently, we anticipate that the official public release of One UI 4.0 firmware based on Android 12 will come out by the end of 2021 for eligible flagship models in selected regions. In 2022, the remaining updates will be rolled out to other Galaxy devices.
