If you are a fan of The Sopranos, chances are pretty high you must have heard of the upcoming prequel to the series, “The Many Saints of Newark.”
It seems like the prequel found its Tony Soprano. Michael Gandolfini will play the character. “The Many Saints of Newark” is written and directed by David Chase. It focuses on Tony’s early years and explores his relationship with Dickie Moltisanti, played by Alessandro Nivola.
As Dickie steers the college aspiring Tony towards the underworld. you can hear the words, “Legends aren’t born, they are made.” He can then be seen explaining to Tony how to take hot speakers.
You take the speakers right, at the same time, you say to yourself, ‘This is the last time I’m ever going to steal something. It’s that simple.
The show then indulges into Tony’s criminal existence, revealing his temper in the first moments he punishes a kid. Tony then goes on to challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s territory.
Other cast members include Vera Farmiga, playing younger Livia Soprano. Nancy Marchand played the dysfunctional parent in the original Soprano series.
Many Saints of Newark will be available in the theatres starting October 1. HBO Max will allow streaming the movie 31 days after its release.
