Reports suggest the Poco Pop Buds will be rebranded Redmi AirDots 3 Pro

According to sources, Poco, one of Redmi’s sub-brand, is working on their first TWS earphones. It was supposed to be released sometime in 2020. The rumor around the TWS died down with time. But it looks like Poco fans might finally get the Poco TWS this year. Having said that, reports suggest that it will be a rebranded version of the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro.

In the past, Poco has launched several Redmi smartphones under its brand name in the Indian market. However, these are merely speculations at this point. The news comes from a Bluetooth SIG listing that was spotted by the tipster Yash (@i_hsay). According to the listing, the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro will soon be launched as ‘Poco Pop Buds.’ The Poco Pop Bud has the same model number as the Redmi Buds 3 Pro, TWSEJ01ZM. One thing to note here is that all three products have the same product number.

Poco teased the upcoming TWS last year but had nothing to show except the name of the product. As for the Redmi AirDots, 3 were only released in the Chinese market last week, while details about the global release remain unknown. Poco India’s director, Anuj Sharma, told Hindustan Times Tech,

We thought we would do truly wireless earbuds. That has been a lot of learning. Because it is not as easy to get what we wanted. We wanted high quality, good sounding device. We worked with different partners to get that going. We had two prototypes, but none of the two got us really excited. Our first phone plus launch, and if it does not deliver, that will put us in a spot.
