iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have dual eSIM support in the history of Apple

Since Apple has started manufacturing its iPhones, the company didn’t show any kind of interest in providing dual SIM support for years. Then after emerging the eSIM facility for mobile devices, Apple started showing interest in it and providing the eSIM functionality to its recent models for a couple of years. That means one physical SIM and one eSIM support for the global market except for the Chinese market where two physical SIM slots are available on iPhones. Now, it seems that for the first time in the history of Apple, both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will have dual eSIM support from the manufacturer.

Apple has announced iPhone 13 series, Apple Watch Series 7, iPad Mini 6th generation, and more at the special event yesterday on September 14, 2021, via an online conference. According to Apple, all the iPhone 13 models have Dual SIM using the nano-SIM & eSIM that can also be used with dual eSIM if you have a wireless carrier plan. Whereas the iPhone 13 Mini will not support the existing micro-SIM cards anymore. That means both the iPhone 13/13 Mini users will have to go with nano-SIM & eSIM or dual eSIM option, respectively.

If you take a look at the iPhone 13 official webpage, it says:

  • Dual SIM (nano‑SIM and eSIM)
  • Dual eSIM support
  • iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are not compatible with existing micro-SIM cards

Apart from that, all iPhone 13 series models now support 5G connectivity with more 5G bands which should help users to get interact with the faster network access in more countries. iPhone 13 series will open for pre-order from September 17, 2021, Friday.
