Apple iPhone SE 3 might feature a 4.7-inch LCD screen along with an A15 chip

According to a report, the next version of Apple’s affordable iPhone, the iPhone SE, might feature a 4.7-inch LCD Screen backed by the A15 SoC.

Nikkei Asia has reported that the upcoming budget-friendly iPhone will carry on the tradition of packing current-gen specs into an aging body design that looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. The report comes from sources familiar with the matter.

It looks like the device won’t see the light of day until next year. Moreover, the phone might retain the design of the iPhone 8, featuring current-gen hardware.

The iPhone SE 3 might also get a boost in terms of connectivity and offer 5G capabilities. The company recently said that all future Apple smartphones would have 5G capabilities baked in, thanks to the Qualcomm X60 modem.

Having said that, it looks like the iPhone SE 3 will still feature a 4.7-inch LCD screen instead of the OLED screens that the current-gen iPhones have. The current leaks seem to be in line with previous reports.

Earlier this week, DigiTimes reported that the iPhone SE 3 would be unveiled sometime in Early 2022, which happens to coincide with the same timeline shared by the notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo had earlier said the same thing while adding that the iPhone SE 3 will be the cheapest Apple 5G device.

According to some Nikkei sources,

It is pretty much decided that there won’t be a Mini next year, and there will be a relatively cost-effective version of the largest iPhone Pro Max instead. However, the designs for the detailed specifications for the four new models next year are not yet locked in

Apple is currently focusing on the mass production of the iPhone 13, with some suppliers stating they will produce about 95 million units between August 2021 and January 2022.
