Google Messages is one of the best text messaging apps on Android, and it has several features that many other messaging apps lack. Google keeps improving and adding new features to the app, and now the company has launched a new feature called “Nudges” to Messages. Reportedly, the new Nudges feature has started rolling out to users with the Google Messages version 10.8.260 beta.
Recently spotted by tipster Mishaal Rahman, Google has started rolling out a new update to its Messages app that adds a new “Nudges” feature for some users. Back in September, some reports suggested that the tech giant was working on a new “nudges” feature in the Google Messages as some hints appeared in the app’s code. The new feature will help users stay on top of important conversations by sending reply reminders. Earlier, this feature wasn’t accessible to end-users, but it’s finally rolling out to users.
Nudges Feature in Google Messages: How to Activate
As aforementioned, the nudges feature rolling out with Google Messages v10.8.260 beta. However, the reports suggest that it’s a server-side update, as some users seem to be seeing this feature appear on older versions of Google Messages, such as version 10.6.240. If you have Google Messages with version 10.8.260, then you can activate nudges by going to Settings > General > Suggestions > Nudges.
In Nudges, you’ll find two options: “suggest reply reminders” and “suggest follow-up reminders.” The first setting, when enabled, will display “messages you might have forgotten to respond to” at the top of your inbox. And the second setting option will draw your attention to “messages you might need to follow up on.”
However, if you don’t see the nudges feature appear in your Google Messages app, you can download the latest beta version from Google Play Store. If you’re not yet a beta tester, you would first need to join the beta program. You can also download the latest beta APK from APKMirror.
