Looks like the fun for new and seasoned Batman fans is not seeing any sight of the night here. Apparently, The Dark Knight is returning in an animated television show as both HBO Max and Cartoon Network have ordered it. Titled Batman: Caped Crusader, the series will be executive produced by three elite storytellers and filmmakers i.e. J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm, and Matt Reeves.
Batman: Caped Crusader – the new Animated Series
According to the press release available, the trio filmmakers are thrilled to be producing the epic Dark Knight, which will take the charge of Gotham City once again. The upcoming series with all stories that the trio will produce with cinematic perspective going deep into the psychology of all iconic characters including the master detective Batman.
The press release further states that Warner Bros Animation (WBA), 6th and Idaho, and Bad Robot Productions will be producing the series along with Cartoon Network Studios (CNS) and HBO Max.
According to Tom Ascheim who is the President at WB Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics (GKYAC), the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader is another offering to die-hard Batman fans towards their insatiable appetite. He added that with a creative team in place, the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader will be a Batman classic.
The executive producer trio has a history with Batman movies and series. Batman: The Animated Series was released 30 years ago and has won Emmy (R) as well as attained gold standards when it comes to superhero storytelling. The upcoming series in the making also welcomes Timm who was behind Batman: The Animated Series and both Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams have their fair share of filmmaking with Batman as the lead.
The trio will be using state-of-the-art animation technologies and techniques to produce Batman: Caped Crusader reinventing the storyline, adding intensive action sequences, and more as the story progresses.
HBO Max and Cartoon Network are also airing a new Superman cartoon titled “Adventures with Superman” with all prominent characters reprising the role in the series. There are not many details available about the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader but it will surely feed the insatiable appetite of die-hard Batman fans until other animation series or movies release.
