In the past few weeks, several rumors about the OnePlus 9 series surfaced that revealed the upcoming smartphone family will launch sometime in mid-March. But now a reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal (via 91Mobiles) has said that OnePlus will announce as many as four products during the same launch event in March. These include the earlier-rumored OnePlus 9 series phones, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus Watch. If you don’t know, the OnePlus 9 series was earlier rumored to have two phones, the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro.
Recently, tipster Evan Blass had revealed the OnePlus 9R moniker that suggested it could be the actual name of the alleged OnePlus 9E/9 Lite. And now Agarwal revealing the launch timeline further confirms that the OnePlus 9R will be the third phone of the OnePlus 9 series. Apart from this, OnePlus is also tipped to launch its first-ever smartwatch during the same launch event. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed its existence, which will reportedly be called OnePlus Watch.
OnePlus 9R, 9/9 Pro, and OnePlus Watch Specs (Expected)
As said before, OnePlus is planning to launch its four products at a launch event in March. These are the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus Watch. Now speaking of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, which has been in rumors for quite some time, are flagship phones. Both of these devices are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Further, the phones will use high-end hardware and have premium specifications. The Pro model may get even more top-of-the-line specs like a 1w0Hz refresh rate, QHD+ display, and Hasselblad-branded cameras. These phones will allegedly support 65W fast charging.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 9R specs have already been tipped in the past when it was said to be called OnePlus 9E. It could be an affordable offering from OnePlus that will feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For processing, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC paired with 8G RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The phone will also include a 64MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and could support at least 30W fast charging.
Lastly, the OnePlus Watch, the existence of which has been officially confirmed, will be the company’s first-ever smartwatch. Earlier sketches of the watch suggest a circular dial. Under the hood, the smartwatch may run Google’s Wear OS, though it’s not confirmed yet. In terms of design, some reports about an OnePlus Watch RX model suggest that the wearable could resemble the Oppo Watch RX.
Well, since the launch is not far and we should expect to see official teasers in the coming days.
